I am so frustrated, I need to write. As many of you know, we are having a baby here in the next 3 months. I get that. YES, I know that its going to be hard. YES, I know that I will not get any sleep. YES, I know its going to be crazy. YES, I know its worth it.
I know ALL of that, but would you please stop saying things like "You have no idea" or the infamous "Just wait and see". I mean come on. Seriously, have you not seen some of the parents out there?? Some of the train wrecks? If they can do it, why can't I?
I am soooooo tired of hearing all of your excuses for not being able to go outside or not being able to go to the bathroom. What really makes it worse is that even if you were right, do you think I would tell you anyway in order to validate your position? People are having babies in this world every couple of minutes. Most of them born to parents with no education, financial or family support. Those kids manage to make it thru life don't they?
I have ran into parents that tell me I will be just fine. I have had parents say some of the most reduculous things I have ever heard of as well. Things such as "are you going to get rid of your dogs now?". I mean what the hell kind of person kicks the dog out because they are now parents? PULL yourself together and act like a grown up. You do what you gotta do in order to survive.
Maybe that is what is wrong with generation X? They just don't know what hard work is? Maybe doing more than one thing at a time is just too much? My mother raised us 3 on one persons salary and we all turned out just fine. With Taunya's half marathons and my Ironman, don't we get a break? That's unless you all think that those are easy feats that you can just go do them after a hard night of drinking? Maybe the difference here is that we both have a better idea of what hard work really means and you all don't? I would certainly have to think that is a possibility right?
What is so funny is that I rarely how much fun it is from people about being parents. All I hear is the negative. I have heard a handful of times that it is worth it, you will enjoy it or they grow up so fast. Where is the upside in this? Why are we having kids? What are we doing? Was it a bad decision? Are we going to regret it?
Thanks everyone for being so positive and making us feel so great about this life altering decision we made about a year ago.

A little update about what's going on around here
So... I wanted to upload this video and I finally have. I shot this about a year ago, but I think its pretty funny. I was in the office here at home and Taunya was still sleeping. On the weekends she usually sleeps in a bit, but I am up usually pretty early. When I get up, I pull the dogs out of their crates and put them on the bed with her. They get settled and then they fall asleep. This usually puts Taunya back to sleep. When the dogs snore, they can put you to sleep pretty quickly. At any rate I was up early and could not help but notice how bad the bulldogs were snoring one morning so I decided to video it. You can see Taunya to the left and Mona at the foot of the bed and Truman just above her. Pretty funny.
Anyway things around here have begun to change. We are getting ready for the baby and Taunya is getting bigger. We are excited and still have not decided what we are going to name him. I was considering using "Dominick" but we kind of want to give him his own identity. We have like 3 different name books and we are still stuck. Oh well, we have 4 more months. Taunya has picked the room colors and we are looking to do some remodeling here in the next couple of months before the baby gets here. Nothing too crazy, just floors and paint.
Work is going good for both her and I. Taunya's company (www.madcapsoftware.com) is doing pretty well and just moved to a new office in downtown la jolla. I have been to her new office and the colors and building are really cool. It is within walking distance of everything, I mean everything. Adobe is doing well and I have been traveling alot lately. I spent the 1st week of December in Boston and the second week in San Jose. Traveling is OK, but I would much rather be at home, in my own bed. I will be heading back to San Jose here come the end of the month for some more meetings and training.
The Chargers have been doing really well. I have been a season ticket holder for the last 4 years and been a charger fan for life. Although I have only had tickets for 4 years, I have been consistently been going to games for the past 6 years. I am excited to have had a winning team for the last couple of years. This will be the last year that I will have my tickets. With the baby coming and all, I really won't have the time to be able to spend 6 hours down at Qualcomm Stadium. The tailgate guys are pretty much going their own way come the end of the season anyway. With Tom's passing, things have never really been the same.
Any, that is it for now. Taunya is not up and we are heading to guess where? Costco. Oh the madness.

Bevan Docherty - Heart of a Champion
This is a great video. This is a video of the short distance triathlon races that happen around the world. Versus Ironman, these races are short and fast. The guy really pulls away and you think he has it, until another guy I hears the same music I guess.
